i have been (perhaps not even noticably) absent for quite a long time, and am trying to catch up on the new style of tribe. the mushing together of all postings is making me ask , please, try very hard to keep ALL posts on topic. anything not pertaining DIRECTLY to anti-oppression in some not obscure way (restaurant reviews, politics, etc.) will be deleted in interests of keeping this tribe streamlined for your reading and discussing pleasure.
also i am in dire need of a co-moderator who is willing to pretty much take over in the not too distant future. hopefully some one who shares the vision laid out in the community guidelines, has a light hand, but isn't scared to jump in and remind people to use their manners if need be. mainly the job requires keeping off-topic posts from taking over! :)
who wants to be the next one (not) in charge around here?

Re: from your moderator - anybody want a job?
Thu, July 27, 2006 - 3:49 AMI think I might be interested. I'm recovering nicely from recent surgery that has left me feeling much better and with more free time. I'm passionate about anti-oppression on all fronts, and I study structural violence, genocide, and public health as my framework for my grad program. I also have a light hand, but don't have a problem with the idea and actual act of keeping people on subject, and also to remind people of their manners.
I've really lurked here for awhile when I was sick, but now that I am well I am able to post.
